This
series was done in late 1994 through 1995. The idea for the series came
about from an 18th century Tantric painting depicting the separation
of individual forms from the primal unity or raw matter. Often a
"cosmic egg" is depicted in Tantric art as the source of male and
female aspects, very similar to theories of the alchemists where there
is a separation of visible matter from the male and female principles
of primal matter. |
